One call with the IVF coordinator and our lives are flipped upside down. DW is officially scheduled for the IVF process and as of now, it looks like this...
BCP's through June 25 to suppress her so the actual drugs can do what they need to do from a blank baseline
Next week, physical/saline sonogram/trial transfer
Meantime, scramble to get the swimmers shipped by July 10 from my old clinic (frm when I tried IUI's) to her new clinic, consent forms on both ends, phone call after phone call, etc etc
Meantime, also scramble fundage together and make sure all those green bucks are lined up in the right places at the right times...ugh
Start LuPron injections June 21
Egg Retrieval July 13
Embryo Transfer July 16 or 18 depending on how they do.
Will know if DW is preggers by the end of July...
Called DW today to tell her the schedule and she was a bit underwhelmed which threw me but it's really because last week we anticipated doing IVF in September, then this weekend it got moved up to earlier because we got creative with funding and were planning on working it around her sister's Bachelorette party in late July, originally thinking that we would do the ER and ET after this event but then today we got word it would be BEFORE this event and that we could be pregnant BEFORE the actual wedding...so this left her with some concerns. She couldn't drink at the Bachelorette party which normally is not a big deal but we are keeping this whole IVF thing on the DL until we are pregnant because of a few reasons. ONe is that when we first started this process we told EVERYONE and then when it didn't work, guess who we had to tell? Yup...EVERYONE and it was devastating. Another reason is that DW does not want to not be "present of mind" both at her sister's bachelorette party and at her wedding. She is also concerned that if in fact, this cycle did take, she might not feel well at her sister's wedding and that's just not fun. And lastly, again, if she is preggers at her sister's wedding, it's still too soon to tell anyone so it again has to be kept under wraps....so I apologized to DW after reacting to her reaction (i.e, freaking out and threatening to cancel the cycle) and asked her to chew on it for a bit and that we weren't married to this cycle and could back out at anytime before we start the meds....so that's where we left it.
Tomorrow we leave for NY for her sister's bridal shower and intend to enjoy ourselves immensely.
